Quarterly PSN Top Guns List published by Zephyr identifies best-in-class
separate accounts, managed accounts, and managed ETF strategies.
Carmel, Indiana—May 24, 2023— Winthrop Capital Management (WCM) announced today it has been named to the celebrated PSN Top Guns List of best performing separate accounts, managed accounts, and managed ETF strategies for 1Q 2023. The highly anticipated list, published by Zephyr, remains one of the most important references for investors and asset managers.

Ultra-Short Fixed Income
WCM’s Ultra-Short Fixed Income strategy returned 1.23% versus the Bloomberg Short-term Gov/Corp return of 1.19%in the first quarter. This strategy is designed to provide liquidity and principal preservation, but with more of an emphasis on seeking returns that are superior to traditional money market offerings.
Tactical Income
WCM’s Tactical Income strategy returned 1.38% versus the Merrill Lynch 3-month US Treasury Bill Index return of 1.07% in the first quarter. By tactically allocating across a broad range of fixed income sectors, this strategy attempts to earn a high income orientated return with a moderate level of risk.
Municipal Bonds Fixed Income
WCM’s Municipal Bonds Fixed Income strategy returned 2.19% versus the Bloomberg Municipal Bond Index return of 2.78% in the first quarter. This strategy invests in all major investment grade sectors of the municipal bond market including general obligations, revenue, special purpose bonds, and tax increment financing bonds.
Ultra-Short with Equity
WCM’s Ultra-Short with Equity strategy returned 2.19% versus the Bloomberg Short-term Gov/Corp return of 1.19% in the first quarter. In pursing this strategy, WCM invests in investment grade corporate bonds, municipal bonds, asset-backed securities, mortgage-backed securities, and high yield bonds.
Municipal Bond Ladder 1-5 Year
WCM’s Municipal Bond Ladder 1-5 Year returned 1.13% in the first quarter. The Municipal Bond Ladder strategy seeks to deliver income opportunities while preserving capital and reducing interest rate risk by investing in laddered municipal bonds and maintaining a controlled duration discipline.
Core Aggressive Growth
WCM’s Core Aggressive Growth model returned 5.18% versus the MSCI ACWI Index return of 7.30% in the first quarter. This strategy will contain a higher percentage of equities and may also feature bonds, mutual funds, exchange traded funds, and alternative investments that meet the goal of high Growth.
Core Sector Aggressive Growth
WCM’s Core Sector Aggressive Growth model returned 7.17% versus the MSCI ACWI Index return of 7.30% in the first quarter. This strategy will contain exclusively equities in sectors that meet the goal of high growth. This strategy invests in sector ETFs based on our macro-economic view of the economy.
Core Sector Growth
WCM’s Core Sector Growth model returned 6.78% versus the blended benchmark of 80% MSCI ACWI Index and 20% Bloomberg 1-3 Year Credit return of 6.12% in the first quarter. This strategy will contain a higher percentage of equities and may also feature bonds, mutual funds, exchange traded funds, and alternative investments that meet the goal of high growth.
Core Sector Growth & Income
WCM’s Core Sector Growth & Income model returned 6.03% versus the blended benchmark of 60% MSCI ACWI Index and 40% Bloomberg 1-3 Year Credit return of 4.93% in the first quarter. This strategy invests in a fairly consistent mix of stocks and bonds within the portfolio and may also use mutual funds, exchange traded funds, and alternative investments that meet the goals of growth, income, and capital preservation.
Income Series Conservative
This strategy will likely consist of a significant percentage of fixed income assets but may also include stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and exchange traded funds that meet the goals of preserving capital.

Moreover, the strategy had an upside market capture over 100 and a downside market capture less than 100 relative to the style benchmark. The top ten ratios of Upside Capture Ratio over Downside Capture Ratio become the PSN Bull & Bear Masters.
