Winthrop Awarded for 1Q 2025 SMA Performance

Quarterly PSN Top Guns List published by Zephyr identifies best-in-class separate accounts, managed accounts, and managed ETF strategies.

Carmel, Indiana – June 11, 2025 – Winthrop Capital Management (WCM) announced today it has been named to the celebrated PSN Top Guns List of best performing separate accounts, managed accounts, and managed ETF strategies for Q1 2025.  The highly anticipated list, published by Zephyr, remains one of the most important references for investors and asset managers.

Winthrop achieved PSN Top Guns status for the following SMA strategies for 1Q 2025.

Tactical Fixed Income

WCM’s Tactical Fixed Income strategy had a gross return of 6.29% in the one-year period ending March 31, 2025, relative to the benchmark of U.S. Treasury Bills: 1-3 Months which had a return of 5.03% during the same time. By tactically allocating across a broad range of fixed income sectors, this strategy attempts to earn a high-income oriented return with a moderate level of risk.

  • 3-Year Category – Tactical Fixed Income had one of the top ten returns for the three-year period ending March 31, 2025, in its respective universe.

Ultra-Short Fixed Income

WCM’s Ultra-Short Fixed Income strategy had a gross return of 5.81% in the one-year period ending March 31, 2025, relative to the Bloomberg Short-term Government/ Corporate which had a return of 5.24% during the same time. The strategy is designed to provide liquidity and principal preservation, but with more emphasis on seeking returns that are superior to traditional money market offerings.

  • 3-Month Category – Ultra-Short Fixed Income had one of the top ten returns for the three-month period ending March 31, 2025, in its respective universe.

Intermediate Fixed Income

WCM’s Intermediate Fixed Income strategy had a gross return of 5.85% in the one-year period ending March 31, 2025, relative to the Bloomberg 1-5 Year Government/ Credit which had a return of 5.71% during the same time. WCM invests in all major investment grade sectors of the bond market including U.S. government securities, corporate bonds, municipal bonds, mortgage-backed securities and other securities.

  • 5 Star Category – Intermediate Fixed Income had an r-squared of 0.80 or greater relative to the style benchmark for the recent five-year period. Moreover, the strategy’s returns exceeded the style benchmark for the three latest three-year rolling periods. Products are then selected which have a standard deviation for the five-year period equal or less than the median standard deviation for the peer group. It had top ten returns for the latest three-year period.

Intermediate Aggregate Fixed Income

WCM’s Intermediate Aggregate Fixed Income strategy had a gross return of 5.70% in the one-year period ending March 31, 2025, relative to the Bloomberg Intermediate U.S. Aggregate which had a return of 5.58% during the same time. This strategy seeks to outperform the benchmark by focusing on investments in high quality securities, managing portfolio risk, and maintaining a controlled duration discipline. WCM invests in investment grade corporate bonds, municipal bonds, asset-backed securities, mortgage-backed securities, and high yield bonds.

  • 4-Star, 5-Star, & 6-Star Categories – had an r-squared of 0.80 or greater relative to the style benchmark for the recent five-year period. Moreover, the strategy’s returns exceeded the style benchmark for the three latest three-year rolling periods. Products are then selected which have a standard deviation for the five-year period equal or less than the median standard deviation for the peer group. It had a top ten information ratio for the latest five-year period.

Corporate Bond Ladder 1-15 Years

WCM’s Corporate Bond Ladder 1-15 Year strategy seeks to deliver income opportunities while preserving capital and reducing interest rate risk by investing in laddered corporate bonds and maintaining a controlled duration discipline. WCM invests in a diversified portfolio of credit monitored investment-grade corporate securities with equally weighted maturities across varying time frames.

  • 3-Month & 6 Star Categories – WCM’sCorporate Bond Ladder 1-15 Year strategy had one of the top ten returns for the three-month period ending March 31,2025. The strategy had an r-squared of 0.80 or greater relative to the style benchmark for the recent five-year period. Moreover, the strategy’s returns exceeded the style benchmark for the three latest three-year rolling periods. Products are then selected which have a standard deviation for the five-year period equal or less than the median standard deviation for the peer group. It had top a ten information ratio for the latest five-year period.

Preferred Securities

The objective of WCM’s Preferred Securities strategy is to achieve stability of principal, while supporting long-term capital appreciation and liquidity. This strategy seeks to actively manage equity holdings that have low-cost basis. Investors in this strategy will be sensitive to capital gains.

  • 3-Month Category – WCM’s Preferred Securities strategy had one of the top ten returns for the three-month period ending March 31, 2025, in its respective universe.
